Why is it important to wash my foundation?

There are two main reasons: curb appeal and maintenance. A clean foundation provides a crisp visual base for your home, making it look much cleaner overall. It also removes moisture-trapping mildew and algae that can slowly degrade the masonry surface over time.

What is the green line at the bottom of my house?

That is algae growth. It’s very common where the bottom of the siding meets the foundation, especially behind shrubs and landscaping where air circulation is poor and moisture is high. Our process completely removes this.

Is the cleaning process safe for my siding and basement windows?

Yes. This is where professional expertise matters. Our technicians are trained to use precise control, specialized nozzles, and sometimes guards to ensure we are cleaning the hard masonry of the foundation without impacting the siding above or forcing water toward fragile basement windows and vents.

Can this process cause water to leak into my basement?

No. We are highly aware of this risk. We use downward cleaning angles and manage our water flow carefully to clean the surface of the foundation without directing high-pressure streams toward window seals or the critical seam where the house framing meets the foundation.

My foundation is made of fieldstone. Can you clean that?

Yes, however, we would adjust our method. For more delicate or historic masonry like fieldstone, we would use our soft washing process. This relies on cleaning solutions rather than pressure to protect the stone and the mortar joints, achieving the same great results safely.

Can you clean out my window wells?

Absolutely. Cleaning out leaves, debris, and grime from window wells is a common and highly recommended add-on to our foundation washing service. It ensures the entire base of your home, including below-grade areas, is clean and functional.

Should I get my foundation cleaned at the same time as a house wash?

We highly recommend it. It’s the most cost-effective option and the best way to achieve a uniformly clean look for your entire home exterior. A clean house on a dirty foundation looks incomplete.

Does this service include waterproofing my basement?

No. Our service is a cosmetic and maintenance cleaning for the exterior surface of your foundation. It does not include interior work or the application of waterproofing sealants.
