Yes. Bloomfield is our home base. We install seamless aluminum K-style gutters formed on-site to fit each home, plus copper and Galvalume systems, gutter guards and downspouts, and every job starts with a free on-site estimate.
Most Bloomfield homes are better served by 6-inch K-style gutters than the standard 5-inch. A 6-inch gutter carries roughly 40–50% more water, which matters on larger or steeper roofs during heavy rain and spring snowmelt. We pair them with 3×4-inch downspouts instead of 2×3. Smaller, low-pitch roofs can still work well with 5-inch gutters.
Yes. When gutters overflow or downspouts empty right next to the house, water soaks the soil around the foundation and can seep into the basement. The usual fix is clearing clogs, correcting the gutter pitch and extending downspouts at least 4–6 feet from the foundation, or connecting them to underground drainage.
We use low-pressure steam to melt channels through the ice and clear the dam, instead of hammers, chisels or salt pucks, which can crack shingles and bend gutters. Steam removes the ice without harming the roof surface or the gutter system. Ice dams form when heat escaping through the attic melts snow that refreezes at the colder roof edge, so we also point out ventilation or insulation issues that make them come back.
The price depends mainly on the linear footage of your roof edge, the gutter size (5-inch or 6-inch), the material (aluminum, Galvalume or copper), the number of stories, how many downspouts you need, and whether any fascia boards need repair first. Copper costs more upfront than aluminum but lasts decades longer. We measure your home during a free on-site estimate and give you a written quote.
Yes. Older Simsbury homes often have rotted fascia boards, uneven rooflines or original wood and Yankee gutters, so we inspect and repair the fascia before hanging anything new. We also offer half-round, copper and wood gutters that suit historic architecture.
Yes. Simsbury’s mature oaks and pines drop leaves, seeds and needles that can clog open gutters within a single season. Guards cut down how often gutters need cleaning, and homes near pines need a fine micro-mesh guard to stop needles. They reduce maintenance but don’t eliminate it entirely.
Yes. We install and replace half-round gutters, including 6-inch profiles, in aluminum and copper, with round downspouts and matching hangers. Half-round is the traditional choice for colonial and historic homes and is common in Simsbury’s older neighborhoods.
Yes. Common repairs include resealing leaking seams and end caps, re-pitching sagging sections, replacing loose hangers and fasteners, and fixing damaged downspouts. If an older sectional system has leaks in many places, replacing it with seamless gutters is often more cost-effective, and we’ll tell you which option makes sense.
Yes, especially on West Hartford’s colonial and Tudor homes. Copper doesn’t rust, can last 50 years or more, and develops a natural patina over time. It costs more upfront than aluminum, but it outlasts it by decades.
Yes. Overflowing gutters send water down the walls, causing stains, peeling paint, rot in wood siding and trim, and moisture behind the siding. Because we also repair siding and trim, we can fix the damage and the gutter problem that caused it.
Yes. Split-level homes have several rooflines, and the upper roofs often drain onto the lower ones. We size the gutters for each roof section and place downspouts so water from the upper roof doesn’t overload the gutters below, adding diverters where needed.
Often, yes. We recommend 6-inch gutters for larger roof areas, steeper pitches or roof valleys that concentrate water, while smaller, simpler roofs can use 5-inch. We measure roof area and pitch during the free estimate to choose the right size.
Yes. We clear gutters and flush downspouts, remove debris from the roof edge, and check for leaks or loose hangers while we’re up there. Most Connecticut homes need cleaning twice a year, in late spring and again in late fall after the leaves drop, and homes under heavy tree cover may need it more often.
